Q：How to recover when flash firmware failed with RS-232 interface ?

  • If flash firmware failed with RS-232 interface, please try below step to recover. 

    0. Do not turn on scanner power.

    1. Run AutoHostV1_0.exe.

    2. Choose the COM port what you connect.

    3. Click "Search" to open the firmware file.

    4. Press "Run" first.

    5. then power on the scanner immediately.  

    6. The firmware would be updated in a while. After that, the unit will restart.

    If can't be restored, please send it to back to repair through RMA process. 
Q：How do I change the USB interface of A-50M to RS-232? Can I modify the existing USB cable?
  • Due to different circuits in the cable, a completely different cable that supports RS-232 interface must be used in order to change the interface.
Q：Do I need a driver to use A-50M with USB cable in Linux?

  • USB (HID-Keyboard), RS-232, and Keyboard (PC AT/PS2) interfaces are supported by A-50M on all operating systems so no driver is necessary.

Q：Is A-50M powered by serial port ?

  • Yes the scanner can be powered by pin 9 of the serial port or a power adapter. Please refer to the Buyer's Guide on our website.

Q：Why doesn't A-50M accept RS-232 commands when scanning a barcode label.
  • A-50M is not a multi-process device and can not process more than one task at a time.
